PRESIDENTIAL VISIT: Obama flies in and out of Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) __ It was over before it was supposed to start. President Barack Obama surprised residents of the Grand Valley by showing up early for his scheduled campaign stop, but the crowd cheered as the commander in chief outlined why he should serve "four more years" in the White House.

He spoke about jobs, the economy and his opponent in the speech which was a little longer than 30 minutes.

Supporters packed the Grand Junction High School gym, fanning themselves as the event went on, but never losing enthusiasm.

The President had a few light moments, reminding the crowd to bend their knees (if they were standing) and joked that the First Lady, Michelle Obama no longer allows him to sing to others.

He also spoke seriously about his record, the economy and why the decision voters make in November will be one of the most important decisions in the future of the country.

President Barack Obama is emphasizing women's health issues on his campaign visit to Colorado.

The president started his visit on Wednesday with a rally in Denver, where he was introduced by Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke. She gained notoriety after conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh called her a slut because she supports the Obama health care law's requirement that insurance companies cover contraception.

After the afternoon rally in Grand Junction, Obama arrived in Pueblo, where he is scheduled to speak Thursday. He also will speak in Colorado Springs.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Obama and Mitt Romney tied among voters in Colorado households earning between $30,000 and $50,000 per year. Obama leads among voters with lower incomes; Romney is favored by those making more.

4 more years for our great president! Romney-Ryan is actually worse than McCain-Palin. one did not think it could get any worse for the republicans but it has!
  • by Anonymous on Aug 9, 2012 at 09:18 PM
The funniest thing of all is actually the good people of river city seem to think that who they vote for will count. Sorry your vote for either the mitt or the bo will not count. We do not elect by popular vote. The population centers with representation will get the electoral college nod. And the front range population loves bo. So, you see it does not matter which loser that the folks on the western slope vote for, because your vote does not count, so calm down, bo wins Colorado thanks to the front range. But keep getting your righty and lefty bloomers in knot because it is all for knaught anyway. But just keep cheering and believing the mythology of your vote counting either way!

As if Bush, Obama, Romney, or any other repub or dem will stop bank bailouts, 0% loans to banks, abusing the war on terror, assassination of a U.S. citizen, making Afghanistan the #1 producuer of Opium in the world, giving thousands of guns to Mexican Cartels, etc., etc. Batman theatre shooting FALSE FLAG - search Chris Ramos fake witness, listen to first responder recordings and decide for yourself. Other witnesses saw a second suspect. Emergency exit doors only open outward and can't be kicked in. Green hair, orange hair, James Holmes' brain has been completely fried and cameras NOT ALLOWED in the courtroom, case sealed. This stinks....If you would have told me a couple of years ago that we gave Mexican Cartels thousands of guns I would have said you are a fool and a crackpot. Washington wants your guns. Sikh shooting possible false flag. Some law enforcement in Arapahoe county KNOW THE FACTS DON'T ADD UP. They should stand up and speak, it is their moral obligation as Americans.

Who, in their right mind, would want to vote for a Corporate Raider, Plutocrat who ships American jobs overseas and makes MILLIONS doing it then hides his MILLIONS in Swiss Bank Accounts and gives his money vacations in the Cayman Islands? Who, in their right mind, would want to vote for a privileged son who has had everything handed to him and has succeeded due to his Father's name and money? Didn't we have one of them recently? What was the result of that privileged son's maladministration. Who, in their right mind, would vote for a Plutocrat who, because of HUGE TAX LOOPHOLES, only pays 13.9% income tax on an income of over $20,000,000 on the one tax return we've seen and who thinks that making $384,000 in speaking fees "isn't all that much"? Who, in their right mind, would want to vote for a Plutocrat who wants to ELIMINATE the Capital Gains Tax, the one tax he does pay, which in effect would REDUCE his 13.8% income tax rate on $20,000,000 to a tax rate of NEAR 0%! Does the Plutocrat Mitt RMoney care a hoot for working Americans? Not very likely!

Who in their right might would want to vote for a liar, someone with a stolen Social Security card, no background (other than illegal drug use) who has SPENT MORE TAX MONEY THAN ALL OF THE PRIOR PRESIDENTS COMBINED???? And there's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=HcBaSP31Be8&vg=medium "Corporate Raider" even the Washington Post says that that is a lie. Get your head out of there, he's not going to "give you anything" he's busy destroying your country so that you and your children can have the same standard of living as the rest of the 3rd world. Start paying attention!!!

who in their right mind would vote for either of these losers? Neither one represents you or me, neither one has the nation in mind when making their decisions, they are there for one thing, to line their pockets with gold and then fade away. I find it amusing that folks on either side of the political fence idolize their candidate to such extremes. Mitt Romney is the best we got? BO was the best we got? Sad times we live in, even sadder how folks are drawing lines in the sand about their poor choice of candidates as if they could even fill the shoes of presidents that came before them.

POTUS Obama speaks so mature, intelligently and consistantly, like an adult who commands our respect. Listening to the "live" feed of counter responses have the tone of a spoiled adolescents, telling tails and pointing blame in the wrong direction. The up-coming debates should give the independents the ability to "kick" the tires and provide for the rest of those that voted against Mitt the last time "we" in the middle recognized when Obama campaigned here in 2008 - the same thing in 12', getting what we want takes time and patience.

Yeah, he reads the teleprompter really well. That's why he has pronounced "corpse-man" instead of "corpman" multiple times. He's done a great job making Afghanistan the #1 Opium producer in the world with a little help from Bush. He has invaded more countries, assasinated U.S. citizens, increased invasion of privacy, continued torture at Guantanimo...I'm glad you see it Paul. At least the banks are making billions more with record profits! Dumb and dumber.

He is always reading what he pays someone to write. Give me a break. Dont believe me? Look it up!! He is always looking at teleprompter or down at his speech!! He does not speek from the heart. Just what is written for him

I find the back and forth unfortunate as both sides seem to accept everything that comes from their candidate's party as truth. Both sides are clearly smearing the truth of the others' actions and policies. Instead of just call each other names, how about we look beyond the talking heads to the real state of affairs?

I think the "real state of affairs" is to get this idiot out of the office in November.
