Washington (AP) The results of a new poll don't just show that Barack Obama has caught Hillary Rodham Clinton across the country -- they show that among some groups of supporters, Clinton is losing supporters in big numbers to her democratic rival.
The poll by the Associated Press and IPSOS finds, for example, That Obama now has clear leads nationwide among white men, middle-income earners and liberals. He leads Clinton by 23 points among white men, and 17 points among liberals. He has a similar advantage among people who earn between $50,000 and $100,000 a year. That's a group in which Clinton earlier led by 13 points.
But in some groups that had been cornerstones of the Clinton candidacy, she's still in front. Those include senior citizens, white women and people earning less than $50,000.
As for the possible November matchups, Clinton leads John McCain by 5 points. Obama's lead over McCain is twice that large.
