McCain Issues Challenge To Americans Unhappy With The U.S.

Annapolis, Md. (AP) John McCain says Americans who find fault with their country should work to make it a better one.

The republican presidential candidate issued the challenge today during a speech at the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland. McCain is urging those who are “disappointed with the mistakes of government” to join its ranks and work to correct them.

The former Vietnam veteran said he hopes more Americans will enlist in the military or run for office.

Mccain also encouraged his audience to seek out public service. in his words, “wherever there is a hungry child, a great cause exists.”

Earlier today, McCain said he'd started “getting together a list of names” from which to choose a running mate. He's not offering any details, but says he'd like to name a choice before the republican convention in September.
