GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The new head of the Colorado Republican Party says the federal budget will be the key focus for the 2012 election.

Ryan Call says President Barack Obama talks about hope and change, but Colorado families need more than hope and politicians need to make sure the government lives within its means.

Call made his comments Saturday at the party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner in Glenwood Springs. The Post Independent reports that more than 200 people packed the room for the event.

Call said Republicans need to work hard to re-elect the state's four GOP congressmen, Scott Tipton, Mike Coffman, Doug Lamborn and Cory Gardner, and to take back control of the State Senate.

I would certainly have to agree here on a few things. The Republicans do indeed do need to take back the US senate seats . I strongly believe having a Republican senate is going to be best for the state of Colorado . Mark Udall has been in the Colorado senate seat way to long as it is . We need a senate change really badly. I hope more people will start realizing that and will decide to vote for a Republican senate at least in the state of Colorado .I would like to have a Republican back in the senate seat. Alot of the people in our state need to keep our state on an even money budget and not need to keep slashing more funds in our state budget than we need to. Our Colorado state funds are being cut way to much. And that is certainly not good for our state at all .We seriously need to start repaying our states money back to all of the funds in which governor Bill Ritter had slashed while he was governor .
