Democrats in Senate reject immigrant crackdowns

DENVER (AP) - Colorado Democrats have driven nails in the coffin of this year's illegal immigration crackdowns pushed by Republicans.

A Senate committee voted 3-2 Monday against two GOP-sponsored bills aimed at illegal immigrants.

One of the proposals would have required the Colorado Secretary of State to block voters when their citizenship is in doubt. The other measure would withhold some state funding from cities and towns that won't participate in a federal initiative to identify illegal immigrants through the use of fingerprints when they're arrested.

Colorado Republicans began this year's legislative session with an aggressive plan to crack down on illegal immigration, but most of their bills have failed.

Figures the regressives would. They seem to find that things written clearly in the Constitution are not allowed and things that aren't must be protected.

Most of us welcome Immigrants, so long as they come here legally. It is the illegal population that gets to me.

I hope you are a democrat. They are the only ones getting away with the threats. Unless, of course, I missed the arrests of the tolerant left that death threated the barry soetoro billboard owner's family.

The one positive that has came out of the last two years is we finally understand who the left really are and what they really represent. Now that the mask is off, I have faith that the American voter will make the correct choice the next time, or at least a better one.
