GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The list of people entering the 2012 race for Mesa County Commissioner continues to grow.

Friday afternoon, local attorney and active Republican party member Rose Pugliese announced her candidacy for the District 3 seat currently held by Janet Rowland. Rowland is term limited and will not seek re-election.

Pugliese says as a small business owner, she understands how government regulations can stifle growth and job creation, and wants to work with local business owners to see what can be done to promote the economy at the county level.

"As an attorney, I'm skilled in mediation, negotiation, and I'm a good listener," said Pugliese. "I think we really need to open the lines of communication with the community to really hear what their concerns are and see if we can address them."

Pugliese is one of two candidates currently seeking the District 3 seat. The other is fellow Republican Paul Nelson.
