President Obama to visit Colo. State next week

Denver (AP) -- President Barack Obama is returning to Colorado next week to try to steal the spotlight from the Republican National Convention.

Obama is scheduled to address a rally at CSU Fort Collins on Tuesday evening, just as the Republicans' convention in Tampa heads toward its climax. Mitt Romney is scheduled to accept the GOP nomination there on Wednesday.

Obama had been hammering the Romney-Ryan ticket for proposing what he contends are cuts to student aid in their austerity budget. His trip to Colorado will be sandwiched between appearances at university towns in Iowa and Virginia. Both states are vital swing states in November.

Colorado, where Obama spent two days earlier this month, has additional symbolic significance -- it is where Obama accepted the Democratic party's nomination for president four years ago.

I would like to thank "Grateful" and "Yea" for giving me one more chance to use the good ol spreadsheet to inform them that it has been One Thousand Three Hundred Eleven days since your messiah "inherited" this mess. Actually I think he campaigned for it, not inherited, but that is semantics. My question to the both of you is when will your messiah accept some responsibility for the mess we are still in? Moreover, since he has done such a great job, when will we hear about his accomplishments? When, I ask you, when?!

I'm so thankful that the President is coming to Colorado again. I know it's too soon for a victory lap but we should all thank him for getting us out of the mess he inherited.
