Hot tub death defendant dies

CEDAREDGE, Colo. (AP) The Delta County coroner says a Cedaredge man who admitted to killing his wife during an argument in 2010 has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities say Billy Kissner shoved his wife Raelynn and threw her into the family hot tub after an argument.

According to the Montrose Daily Press, charges were filed in 2012 after a family member turned over notes in which Kissner confessed to killing the 45-year-old woman. Kissner died Saturday.

Kissner pleaded guilty to manslaughter in August. He was to have been sentenced on Friday.
