Most evacuation orders lifted for fire near Carbondale.
The Garfield Country Sheriff’s office says evacuation orders for the Roaring Fork Preserve and the May Fly Bend Subdivision are still in effect.
Highway 82 is also open to traffic.
One person was injured in the wildfire and several structures damaged, but not destroyed. The fire burned an estimated 1,000 acres.. The wind pushed the fire over the Roaring Fork River, and Highway 82.
Officials estimate the fire is about 70 percent contained and continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
More than 45 agencies assisted in fighting the fire. There are still 60 firefighters from 10 different agencies fight the fire.
The American Red Cross has set up a shelter at the Roaring Fork High School off Highway 133 in Carbondale.
