Denver (AP) State and Federal officials are recommending foreclosure counseling to homeowners hit hard by the mortgage foreclosure crisis.
Gov. Bill Ritter says 11,633 property owners in Aurora, Colorado springs, Denver, Greeley and Parker are in the first stages of foreclosure on properties worth $2.2 billion.
Sen. Ken Salazar says counseling has been effective in helping homeowners avoid foreclosure.
