Aurora, Colo. (AP) Aurora police have arrested a man suspected of hijacking four cars in less than 24 hours in two cities.

Aurora police detective Bob Friel says 49-year-old Royal Benjamin Brown Jr. was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he crashed into the car of an undercover officer who drove after him. Friel says the officer suffered minor injuries.

Police suspect Brown stole his first car at about 3 a.m. Wednesday in Aurora. Friel says in the third hijacking Brown forced an elderly woman out of her car in Denver after telling her it was on fire.

Friel says Brown didn't use a weapon in each case but forced his way into the vehicles and subsequently abandoned each one before looking for another.

Brown is being held at the Aurora jail pending charges.
