Boulder, Colo. (AP) A Boulder woman facing a $1,000 fine for dyeing her poodle pink struck a deal with authorities to have the charge against her dismissed if she stops coloring her dog.

Joy Douglas says she used beet juice and to dye her white miniature poodle Cici pink to call attention to breast cancer. She was ticketed in March under an ordinance designed to
discourage people from dyeing rabbits and chicks for easter.

Officials in the city attorney's office say her case could be dropped if she is not accused of dyeing animals before her next court date in October.

The dog is currently white.
