2 Camp Lejeune Marines killed in Afghanistan

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) -- Two members of a Marine Corps Special Operations Battalion based at Camp Lejeune have been killed in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said Monday that 39-year-old Staff Sgt. Eric Christian of Warwick, N.Y., and 23-year-old Cpl. David Sonka of Parker, Colo., were killed during combat operations in Afghanistan's Farah province.

They were both assigned to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion at Camp Lejeune.
