FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Fort Collins police say an officer shot and wounded a man who confronted him with a knife in a hospital parking lot.
Police say the shooting happened Thursday morning at Poudre Valley Hospital. Officers were called there on reports that the man was wielding a knife.
Police said in a statement that the officer fired when the 53-year-old man confronted him. The man was hospitalized, but the extent of his injuries is unknown. The officer was not hurt.
Authorities didn't immediately release the man's identity or other details on the incident.
