A new wildfire is burning in Western Colorado, 5 miles south of Rifle.
The Porcupine fire is burning on a 25 to 40 acre plot of BLM and Forest Service land. In the area are gas rigs and some structures, but so far, no evacuations have been ordered.
Fire crews are battling the fire from the air with the aid of two helos and two air tankers. There is no word on how many people people are currently fighting the blaze.
