Denver (AP) The former U.S. Forest Service employee who started Colorado's worst wildfire is expected to appear in federal court in Denver on Friday.
Terry Barton has been summoned to testify in a lawsuit brought by insurance companies who covered property losses in the 2002 Hayman fire. The companies are suing the federal government for about $7 million they paid out in claims.
Barton said she accidentally started the fire when she burned a letter in a campground.
She pleaded guilty to both state and federal arson charges in the fire was released from prison earlier this year.
