Denver (AP) Colorado groups plan to join a nationwide protest of a same-sex marriage ban approved by California voters last week.
Gay-rights advocates plan protest rallies at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the steps of the city and county building in Denver and on the Boulder County Courthouse lawn. The demonstrations are timed to coincide with protests across the country.
Proposition 8 is a constitutional amendment that overruled a California Supreme Court decision in May that legalized same-sex marriage. Opponents are suing to challenging the amendment.
