Governor Bill Ritter is proposing a stimulus package for the state and some lawmakers are questioning the move.
Ritter told the legislature's joint budget committee he wants to set aside $2.5 million to help small businesses get credit and another $2.5 million to set up job training at community colleges.
Committee members were skeptical saying congress' $700 hundred billion should soon free up credit markets.
Ritter's plan is part of his proposed budget for next year, which is close to $20 billion dollars, up 3.4 percent from this year.
