Fort Collins, Colo. (AP) The northern Colorado bomb squad has used a robot to destroy a suspicious object found in a Fort Collins park over the weekend.
Police say the baseball-sized object was discovered in Avery Park on Sunday afternoon.
Officers roped off a 60-square-foot section of the park. Bomb squad members maneuvered the robot into place next to the object, then remotely controlled the robot to move the object behind a concrete restroom facility.
The robot then destroyed the item.
Authorities say no secondary explosion occurred, and the object was destroyed without incident.
Police have not said what the object was or where it came from.
