Northglenn, Colo. (AP) Northglenn Police say a Valentine’s Day operation in which officers posed as deliverymen yielded 16 arrests of people with warrants.
Police say they conducted what they call their annual “sweetheart warrant sweep” on Friday and Saturday for people facing charges that include assault, drug possession, sexual assault on a child and drunken driving.
Police Lt. Jeremy Sloan says officers contacted the suspects by pretending to make a Valentine’s Day delivery. Last year, Northglenn Police officers who conducted the operation knocked on doors bearing long-stem roses and a box. They arrived in a van with a sign that read “flower delivery.”
Officers arrested 23 people last year.
