Denver (AP) Police say a 38-year-old man was bitten by a Coyote while walking his dogs in Broomfield.

The man, whose name wasn't released, and his two dogs were in the Trails Park area at about 8:15 p.m. Monday when the attack occurred.

One of the dogs spotted a coyote and chased it up a hill. Police say the man went to look for the dog, and another coyote lunged at him, biting his arm.

Authorities say the man was able to fend off the coyote and suffered only minor scratches and a puncture wound to his arm. Neither dog was injured.

The man reported the incident to Broomfield Police yesterday. The Colorado Division of Wildlife Spokeswoman says it’s searching for the coyotes involved and intends to kill them.

The coyote attack was the second in Broomfield this year.
