Denver (AP) - Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter and Attorney General John Suthers are pledging to work together to reduce air pollution in the Four Corners region.
State officials said today they sent a letter to the federal environmental protection agency, saying pollution in New Mexico's San Juan County could be reduced if the federal government requires
emission controls at a power plant on the Navajo reservation.
Republican State Rep. Scott Tipton of Cortez asked state officials to help reduce pollution in the Four Corners region last week.
He says excessive emissions have traveled across state lines, clogging the air and damaging the health of southwestern Colorado residents.
