2 teens arrested in shooting plot at Colo. school

Dove Creek, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers arrested in New Mexico on suspicion of burglary and theft planned a shooting this week at Dove Creek High School in southwestern Colorado.

Sixteen-year-old David Taylor and 19-year-old Cody Barr, both of Dove Creek, were arrested Monday in a trailer east of Bloomfield, N.M., San Juan, N.M., County Undersheriff Mark McCloskey told The Daily Times of Farmington.

Dolores County, Colo., Sheriff Jim Martin said seven rifles, including shotguns and an M1 Carbine, were recovered from the juvenile's Dove Creek home, while three weapons were recovered in New Mexico.

Martin said authorities learned of the threat from Barr's family. Both were extradited to Colorado Wednesday.
