Boulder, Colo. (AP) - A woman has been arrested on suspicion of felony animal cruelty after police say she taped a puppy to the side of a refrigerator in her boyfriend's Boulder apartment.

Police say they arrived at the home at about 5 a.m. Tuesday following a report of a domestic incident, and 20-year-old Abby Toll told them, “There's a dog taped to the fridge.”

Officers say toll told them she taped the 8-month-old Shiba Inu to the refrigerator because she was angry at her boyfriend for not getting rid of the animal after it bit her.

Police allege toll used packing tape and elastic hair ties to bind the dog's legs, tail and snout, then used more tape to stick the dog to the appliance.

Police have placed the puppy with the Boulder Valley Humane Society, where it will remain until the case is resolved.

Toll also faces tampering and assault charges. She was being held at the Boulder County Jail on $12,500 bond.
