An expensive run for a local office is getting more expensive for a Craig man. And he might have to spend time in jail for spending too much.
Authorities say Francisco Reina's campaign report showed he spent about $1,500 on his campaign, more than three times the limit.
Reina faces a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to 180 days in jail.
His run for the council seat was unsuccessful.
Reina apologized to the council at a meeting earlier this week, saying he purchased advertisements in the Craig Daily Press to tell his life story.
