Bennett, Colo. (AP) - Aviation officials are joining opponents of a proposed landfill near Denver International Airport, saying the dump could attract dangerous bird flocks.
The Federal Aviation Administration, the Colorado Department of Transportation and DIA have all sent letters raising concerns about the proposed dump near Bennett.
The Adams County Planning Commission was expected to issue a recommendation on the landfill Thursday. The landfill operator has said it will take enough precautions to prevent dangerous bird flocks at the dump.
Another airport near the site, Front Range Airport, has said it does not oppose the landfill.
