Denver (AP) - Colorado Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry says Republicans need to admit they made mistakes when they were in power if they are to have any hope of winning elections next year.

Penry told a Republican fundraiser in Denver on Wednesday that Democrats are right when they point out that Republicans went on a spending spree.

He said voters are angry with Democrats over increasing deficits and that Republicans must promise to make the tough choices needed to cut government spending.

You may be better served actually looking at today. Not yesterday. I'm a republican, but I also agree that many mistakes have been made by the republican party that need to be reversed or at lease acknowledged.

Josh angered me 6 yrs. ago and I have no intention of voting for him if he runs. All my family feel the same way.
