A mother bear and her cub decided they wanted to have Sunday brunch in Broadmoor Bluffs in Colorado Springs. And the cub ended up inside someone's house.

Frightened by the family dog, the cub ducked inside a front porch window, punched through the screen, ran through the home and scratched a screen open forcing the back deck door open. Wildlife officers say that was fortunate, because damage to the home could have been horrific if the mother had barged in to rescue her cub.

DOW officals say homeowners need to realize that bears are curious creatures and can pry open even the slightest crack. This is the third "bear break-in" this summer in the area.

Colorado Springs has always been a hot spot for bear activity. Last summer they more than 850 bear-related calls but officals say bears entering homes is relatively new.
