Colo. tries to help small firms get stimulus work

Denver (AP) - Colorado officials are staging a business fair to help small companies looking for government work funded by the federal stimulus package.

Gov. Bill Ritter addressed hundreds of business owners at the event Tuesday and signed an executive order making it clear that stimulus-related jobs would be posted on a state Web site.

Many business owners, from consultants to roofers, say they're still not sure when they'll see stimulus-funded work.

They applauded Ritter's effort but say the state needs to do more to help struggling small businesses know where they can find work.
