A base jumper fell nearly 1,000 feet near Rifle Wednesday afternoon.
The man, who hasn’t been identified, is still alive.
Search and Rescue teams from Garfield County and the City of Rifle found the man with a partially deployed parachute complaining about pain in his back and abdomen.
Rescuers on scene say his injuries don't appear to be life threatening and he was conscious and alert on his way to the hospital.
