Basalt, Colo. (AP) - Basalt police say illegal fireworks may have started a small wildfire that briefly threatened two western Colorado homes.
Police Sgt. Roderick O'Connor said Wednesday investigators found the remains of a fireworks device after the fire was extinguished.
O'Connor says investigators have no suspects.
He says he doesn't think the blaze was deliberately set.
The wind-driven fire broke out Tuesday in dry grass and got to within 10 feet of one home before it was contained.
There were no reports of injury or damage.
