UPDATE: 190 Now Fighting Narraguinnep Fire, Smoke Still Visible from Montrose

Montrose residents are seeing heavy smoke from a fire burning north west of Cortez.

The Narraguinnep fire has already burned 4,700 acres.

Smoke is visible from Montrose, Norwood, Durango and even Farmington.

Bureau of Land Management Officials say lightning sparked the blaze.

As of Sunday,190 people were fighting the fire in the remote canyon. Three helicopters are also helping with an air attack.

The fire is not threatening structures and no injuries have been reported.
