A non-profit organization has made it its mission to honor and celebrate the lives of others through listening.
Thursday they took their mission to the Montrose Library.
Since its start, more than 27,000 people have shared their life stories with StoryCorps.
The group records each account on a free CD and preserves it at the Library of Congress.
The stories are also broadcast on public radio online.
Dozens came out to share what makes them so unique.
StoryCorps will be at the Montrose Library for a week and then heads to Paonia.
To set up a time to share your story, call 1-800-850-4406.
StoryCorps hopes to gather 125 stories between Montrose and Delta.
