Denver (AP) - A man accused of shattering windows next to signs about health care reform at the Colorado Democratic Party Headquarters has been charged with criminal mischief.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey filed the charge Monday against 24-year-old Maurice Schwenkler, who's listed in state records as having been paid by a nonprofit group to work for at least one Democratic candidate.
Schwenkler and another suspect are accused of causing an estimated $11,000 in damage to Colorado Democratic Party Headquarters early Aug. 25. Authorities are still seeking the other suspect.
Schwenkler is free on a $5,000 bond. And is due in court Sept. 9 to be formally advised of the charge. A phone number for him could not be found.
