Pueblo, Colo. (AP) - Colorado's freshman Democratic Senator already has a half-dozen Republican opponents next year.

Now he's facing a Democrat, too.

Former State House Speaker Andrew Romanoff launches his challenge of Senator Michael Bennet today.

Romanoff was passed over for the seat when it became vacant as former Senator Ken Salazar became Interior Secretary.

Some Democrats have been unhappy with the Governor's appointment of Bennet, who was Superintendent of Denver Public Schools, but not well-known before becoming Senator.

Romanoff was in the Colorado House for eight years, four as speaker.

Romanoff left office early this year because of term limits and has been teaching public policy at the University of Colorado in Denver.
