Police are investigating after witnesses say a transient used an aerosol can and either a lighter or a match to set another transient on fire on Tuesday.

Boulder Police say the incident involved two men and happened around 2 p.m.

Police say the fire was put out quickly and the victim, 44-year-old Robert Colehour, ran from the scene. Colehour returned a short time later and was transported to Boulder Community Hospital for treatment. Police say he suffered what are believed to be second-degree burns to his right ear and neck, and less-serious burns to his right arm and scalp.

Colehour was treated and released.

Authorities found the suspect, 62-year-old Robert Sparks Bryon, at the scene and took him into custody. They say Bryon is a transient known to frequent the Boulder area.
