Somerset, Colo. (AP) - Investigators have found more bones and other evidence near Bear Creek outside Somerset where a human skull was found last weekend.
Gunnison County Undersheriff Rick Besecker said Wednesday the additional bones are believed to be human.
Haven’t determined the name of the dead person or said when the death occurred. Besecker says the bones could have been there a long time. Gunnison County Sheriff Rick Murdie told 11 News earlier this week he was told by the Gunnison County Coroner the Coroner believes the skull to be that of a woman.
Besecker declined to give any specifics about the other evidence investigators found.
A firewood gatherer found the skull Saturday along Bear Creek near Somerset, about 60 miles east of Grand Junction and 140 miles west of Denver.
