The lawyer defending an Afghan immigrant who is accused of plotting a bomb attack in New York says a key element is missing in the case against his client.

Attorney Arthur Folsom says says prosecutors can't connect Najibullah Zazi to explosives or the chemicals allegedly used to make them.

On Friday Zazi was taken by Federal Marshals to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

According to Folsom, the FBI did not find any trace of any chemical in Zazi's vehicle. A federal prosecutor says Zazi was planning a terrorist attack to coincide with the September 11 Anniversary.

Investigators say they're searching for three and possibly more of Zazi's accomplices in New York.
