Montrose County Commissioners voted unanimously, 3-0, Wednesday to approve a special use permit for Toronto-based Energy Fuels Inc. to build a uranium mill in southwest Colorado.
The mill would be 12 miles west of Naturita.
Supporters say it will provide positive economic growth to the area, but others, like Ruth Marie Moore, think the mill will not be safe.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will now vote on the issue.
