The case against a man originally arrested on 468 counts of sex assault on a child has been dismissed.
Forty three–year-old Jorge Arturo Montes of Delta was officially charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust but the case was dismissed Sept. 28.
The alleged victim, now an adult, told Delta Police she was molested repeatedly and raped once as a girl between 1986 and 1993.
Prosecutors say the number of counts was reduced because the alleged assaults happened before Colorado had a law citing a pattern of abuse.
