Amber Alert canceled: 2-year-old Essence Lovato found

UPDATE: The Amber Alert issued this morning for Essence Lovato has been canceled. Colorado Springs Police say the two year old has been found. She is safe and unharmed.

Just after 3 p.m., police got a tip that Tonia Shetina, the woman who took the girl, was in a home just south of Fountain.

Investigators searched the house and found little Essence.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKCO) – Police across Colorado are on the lookout for a two-year-old girl who has been missing for two days from Colorado Springs.

Essence Lovato is two-feet tall and weighs about 28 pounds, with long, brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen Monday night wearing short-sleeved, pink-and-black striped shirt; black leggings with colored polka dots; a grey, hooded cheetah jacket; and white socks.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says Essence may be with Tonia Shetina, who is a person of interest in this case. According to the Associated Press, Shetina had permission to take the girl to her grandfather's house, but the girl never showed up.

Shetina is 38 years old with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her car is a 2000 green Honda Accord, Colorado temporary tag #592716K.
