ASPEN, Colo. (AP) Aspen Skiing Company is charging its highest price ever for a single-day, walk-up lift ticket.
The Aspen Times reports the company increased the ticket price to $119 last weekend after opening all four of its ski areas, which include Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk.
Company spokesman Jeff Hanle says the price at the window increased to $124 Friday and "it looks like this will be our peak pricing." The price is expected to drop to $119 after the holidays and then go back to $124 during Presidents Day weekend and spring break.
The highest price last season was $117.
Resort officials say the increased ticket price this season is the result of good early conditions that they tout as once-in-a-generation.
