Bicyclists angry over harassment from SUV driver

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- The Colorado State Patrol is looking for the driver of an SUV who followed several bicyclists down a highway honking and nearly forcing one of them off the road.

Dirk Friel posted a video on a website on Sunday showing the driver slowly trailing the cyclists as the driver repeatedly honks the horn at them throughout the two-minute clip.

Friel tells the Longmont Times-Call he was worried the driver would cause an accident. He says his biking companion had to use his hand to push off as the vehicle finally passed them.

The state patrol says it has received other complaints about the SUV and they are investigating.

First, what did you do to the driver of the suv before you started filming, bet you were not on the white line! I have encountered so many rude bike riders!!! 99% of you are rude. You say share the road but many times I have seen bike riders ride out in front of cars on blind corners and push them into the other lane to avoivd hitting the bike rider. You ride up,spit on cars, slam your hands on them and harras drivers. If you want to block trafic and take up the whole road then you should have to pay road tax have plates on your bike, turn signals and all the safety regs. of a car.You are a hazard on the road so how about you have to carry high risk insurance? Also, that suv was not that close to you.So stop crying because a car honked his horn at you.Bike riders cause near miss accidents all the time!

@Tara: If driving your car makes you feel so big and superior then you have character issues. The person signing your paycheck can easily be one of those tiny cyclists that rightfully takes the whole lane like a "freekin car".

I hate bicyclist who take up an actual lane like they are a freekin car. I am driving and am bidder than you move the hell out of my way. However why didn't the SUV just pass them and get it over with, I think folling behind them honking the whole time was way dumb.
