GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Maintenance crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) says the northwest region of the state are already on 12 hour snow shifts. Flurries have already been reported to higher elevations and 35 to 50 plows are on the road, including Vail Pass and Eagle County.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 25. Travelers should be prepared for winter driving conditions, as highways will be snow-packed in areas. As temperatures drop into the night, more ice on the highways is possible. Areas near Craig, Dotsero, Eagle, Granby, Grand Lake, Gypsum, Hot Sulfur Springs, Kremmling, Meeker, Steamboat Springs, Vail, Walden, and Winter Park are expected to receive between four to six inches of snow.
