Colo. gov says time to talk gun laws

DENVER (AP) -- Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper says "the time is right" for state lawmakers to consider gun control measures, offering his firmest stance in the aftermath of several high-profile shootings, including a movie theater rampage in suburban Denver, that have shocked the nation.

The Democratic governor has until now resisted calls to review state gun laws. He upset some in his party when he said last summer that stricter laws would not have prevented the Aurora rampage.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Hickenlooper said that the legislative session in January would be an appropriate time to take up a debate on gun control measures, though he didn't call for specific legislation.

Former graduate student James Holmes is charged with killing 12 people and wounding 70 others in the July shootings.

So the Governor is going to discuss infringing on our second amendment rights. They need to discuss the “dangerous places” (gun free zones) they have created by not allowing the free carry of guns, and the self-protection of our citizens. These are the only places were these gunman have attacked. They have been put in place by Government laws. These are the laws that need to be changed.

I am disappointed to hear that our govenor would even consider this. We can vote him out though. The criminals and those with mental issues some how will always be able to get what ever guns they want. I think more people should either be getting concealed weapon permits or open carrying. We have many more responsible people in our communities than you think.

No doubt Obama is the number one gun salesman in America. No doubt Hickenlooper will be the number one gun salesman in Colorado. Cabelas is sold out of 5.56 X 45 (.223) in FMJ bulk. Sportsman’s Warehouse has the largest stock of AR 15s I’ve ever seen there. Jerry’s Outdoor Sports is limiting bulk ammo sales to one box per customer. And America is rapidly approaching a use it or lose it moment. And when it happens, don’t forget who you can thank for making it happen. Maybe someone just forgot what it was like?

it could have been worst like a bomb and a lot more people could have been killed also the theater would have been destroyed and yes it was terrible that it had happen all those people dead and injure but these acts are not a go ahead to control people who are upstanding, law bidding so stop trying to take the right to own guns and also trying to take guns a way
