LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) -- A Colorado woman is waiting to hear when her young son will be returned from Canada after police say her estranged husband abducted him.
Brandy Turner said Monday that 3-year-old Luke sounded good and was excited about returning home when they spoke on the phone Sunday.
Authorities allege 51-year-old Monty Turner broke into his wife's home in Longmont, Colo., on Saturday, attacked her with pepper spray and a stun gun, and took their son. A court order prohibits the father from contacting his wife and son.
Monty Turner was arrested Sunday in Brandon, Manitoba, with Luke. Authorities say the boy was unharmed.
Prosecutors in Colorado are working with Canadian officials to get custody of the father, who is jailed in Canada on kidnapping and other charges. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
