Colorado regulators fine west hawk energy $940,000

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. (AP) -- Colorado regulators have levied $940,000 in fines against West Hawk Energy LLC over alleged rule violations at eight abandoned wells in Rio Blanco County.

Commission inspectors allege the violations include wells that, haven't been properly tested or plugged; spilled fluids; and pit liners in poor condition.

The commission is considering banning oil and gas operations by West Hawk until the fines are paid.

Encana Oil & Gas, which had farmed out gas leases to West Hawk, is taking over plugging and reclamation work.

I read KKCO's website to keep up on hometown news while I'm away at school. But you guys are about to lose me for the sheer unreadability of your online articles. In this article alone, examine these errors: "Colorado Regulatores"--on the homepage, even "include wells that, haven't"--why the comma? "by west hawk"--CAPITALIZE proper names Plus you posted the whole article twice. Unprofessional.

I agree and it also said the same things twice. I think they hired grade schoolers to save money.

It's so embarrassing. I would apply for a job as editor, but I know how to spell and I don't have as many drugs and/or drinks as it appears to take for the position.
