Columbine area schools on lockout

KUSA says that Columbine area schools are now on lockout due to a possible threat at Columbine High School.

Littleton, Colo. – According to KUSA, Columbine area schools are currently on lockout this morning.

The message was received from Jefferson County Public Schools that police are in the process of investigating a threat made at Columbine High School. A lockout means that students are not allowed to exit, but classes will be carried out as normal.

The schools on lockout include:

Columbine Hills Elementary School

Dutch Creek Elementary School

Governor’s Ranch Elementary School

Leawood Elementary School

Normandy Elementary School

Ken Caryl Middle School

Columbine High School

Jefferson County Public Schools stresses that students and staff are safe. We give you updates whenever we get further information.
