DENVER (AP) -- A Colorado man already serving time for the death of his toddler son has been convicted of beating his 19-year-old wife with a bat and burying her alive in 1996.

The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/HYIN5C) an Arapahoe County jury convicted Michael J. Medina on Friday of first-degree murder in the death of Kimberly Greene-Medina, whose body was never found. He is already serving a 48-year prison term for killing his 16-month-old son Degan, whose body was found in Monte Vista in 2005.

Court records say Medina confessed in 2005 to killing and burying Greene-Medina to his second wife Becky Garel. At the time, he was accusing Garel of being unfaithful to him and threatening to kill his toddler son to make her suffer.

Charges in Greene-Medina's death weren't brought until March 2012.
