Dozens of ticket holders locked out

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) A few dozen people were literally running, tickets in hand, to try and make it in the doors before they closed. A campaign official abruptly announced secret service would not let anyone else in. One woman we talked with arrived at 8am.
She says officials never told her there was a time limit to arrive for the President's speech, just that he would be speaking at 5:30pm. She also claims law enforcement was rude and disrespectful to supporters.

"You get here at 4 minutes after 4, and the cops start turning you away like you're a dog. We have tickets; we're not trying to bust into this place, we're peaceful; we just wanted to come see our President, and support our president, for once, when we're finally allowed," said one woman who was turned away.

During Governor Romney's visit at Central High School recently, an overflow area with speakers was set up for supporters to listen. President Obama's supporters didn't have the same luxury Wednesday.

The ticket states the following: "Tickets are required but do not guarantee admission".

To add to "Pay Attention's" for "Not a Freeloader"...why is it that Clinton advised Obama earlier this year to extend Bush Tax Cuts for the middle class? I'm guessing he knows they are the right thing to do. Remember Clinton added new taxes like the so called 'death tax' where your family has to pay after you die. I too do not want the Government to take care of me, run the country and protect our borders thats their job not handouts.

Uhm...here I will spell it out with crayons so you can understand...The president was arriving early, so the schedule had to be pushed forward. Unfortunately you were left behind....and its not going to be the last time. Grow Up....arrive early...2500 others made it in no problem..

to: "Not a Freeloader" you appear to forget that this whole banking mess started in 1996 when your beloved Clinton was President and had banks approve loans that were upside down. Yes the Bush years added to it but it all started during a Democratic Presidency. But then again you Liberals will blame anyone but who really is at fault. I would love to have Clinton back over this guy. But why do I want more Government intrusion in my personal life, why would I want bigger Government, more taxes, more & more wasteful spending domestically and to foreign countries. I don't, so I chose to vote for the parties for smaller Government and less iintrusion and that just simply is not a Democrat. We are not the free loaders here, we work and pay our way. The only thing cool here was that the most powerful man in the world, (I think he still is unless he apologized for that too) was in little itty bitty Grand Junction calling us 'Deliverance People'. How nice and supportive you are to him. Next on the agenda - protect and provide for more illegals not contributing to society here, that should secure about 1.2 million votes for our Democrat.

How is this a surprise to anyone? Isn't this what happened last time?
  • by Anonymous on Aug 9, 2012 at 07:35 AM
Ah, history does indeed repeat itself; he lined the audience with his own cheerleaders last time and turned away people who probably voted for him anyway. I hope these people who were turned away will put in a vote for Barney Rubble or any other more qualified candidate!

Don't blame our local police. And they probably were not rude, just following rules applied by the Secret Service. So get off your high horse blaming our locals. If obama did make a remark about "Deliverance" being made in this town, what a crude and telling remark about who this lying piece of hum-hum this man is.

When leaving the high school the President was over heard asking, Is this where the movie Deliverance was made?? Sounds like the good people of this town made a good impression on the President!

Ya think any of them was smart enough to go and watch the TV?
